Job Summary
The Quality Control Executive is responsible for ensuring that food products meet company quality standards, food safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The role involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring production processes, conducting quality tests, maintaining documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Raw Material Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials.
- Verify supplier quality certificates and specifications.
- Approve or reject materials based on quality standards.
In-Process Quality Control
- Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with quality and food safety requirements.
- Conduct routine checks for weight, appearance, texture, taste, moisture, and packaging quality.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Finished Product Inspection
- Perform quality inspections and testing of finished products.
- Verify product specifications, labeling, and packaging compliance.
- Release products for dispatch after quality approval.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
- Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), and sanitation procedures.
- Support implementation and maintenance of HACCP programs.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain QC records, inspection reports, and testing data.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Document non-conformances and corrective actions.
Issue Resolution
- Investigate customer complaints and product quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Procurement teams to resolve quality concerns.
Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Assist during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Participate in quality improvement projects.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce defects and wastage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in food manufacturing quality control.
- Freshers may be considered for junior QC positions.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, GHP).
- Understanding of quality control procedures and laboratory testing.
- Familiarity with food manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
