Job Title: Drilling Operator (Plastic Injection Moulding)Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Drilling Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating drilling machinery to perform post-moulding finishing operations on plastic parts. You will ensure all products meet strict quality standards, follow technical blueprints, and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate drilling machines, tapping tools, and secondary finishing equipment according to job specifications.
- Post-Moulding Processing: Perform precise drilling, deburring, and trimming on injection-moulded plastic components.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine drill sizes, depths, and tolerances.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular visual and dimensional inspections of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Defect Management: Identify and isolate defective materials or moulding flaws (such as flash or short shots) and report inconsistencies to the supervisor.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform basic routine maintenance on drilling equipment and strictly adhere to company safety protocols, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience as a Drilling Operator, Machinist, or in a similar secondary-operations role within a manufacturing setup (Plastic Injection Moulding industry experience is highly preferred).
- Technical Skills: Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, gauges).
- Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on precision and accuracy to minimize material waste.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [Insert Weight, e.g., 15–20 kg] regularly.
- Education: High school diploma, ITI certificate, or equivalent technical trade training.
