Job Summary
We are seeking a Inventory & Merchandise Analyst for our jewellery brand who will be responsible for inventory analysis, stock planning, merchandise performance tracking, and inventory optimization across our retail stores. The role focuses on analyzing product-wise sales and stock data, identifying fast- and slow-moving jewellery, and recommending actions to improve sales, stock rotation, and inventory efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Analysis
- Analyze sales and inventory data at SKU, category, collection, and store level.
- Identify fast-moving, slow-moving, ageing, and non-performing products.
- Monitor inventory turnover, stock ageing, stock cover, and sell-through performance.
- Prepare actionable insights and recommendations for management.
2. Merchandise Planning
- Recommend replenishment quantities for fast-selling products.
- Suggest transfer, promotion, markdown, or liquidation of slow-moving stock.
- Support assortment planning for new collections, festive launches, and seasonal demand.
- Monitor category-wise performance and optimize product mix across stores.
3. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement data.
- Track inward, outward, transfer, return, and adjustment entries.
- Coordinate with stores, warehouse, and vendors for stock replenishment and balancing.
- Ensure proper product coding, tagging, and categorization.
4. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and merchandise reports.
- Generate stock ageing reports, category performance reports, and inventory dashboards.
- Maintain Excel-based trackers and management MIS with high accuracy.
5. Retail Operations Support
- Ensure availability of key products across retail counters.
- Assist stores during stock audits, physical verification, launches, and promotions.
- Work closely with sales teams to understand customer demand and product movement.
6. Audit & Compliance
- Support periodic physical stock counts and cycle counts.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain audit documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company inventory processes and controls.
Qualification/Experience
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in inventory analysis, merchandise planning, stock management, or jewellery retail operations.
- Experience in jewellery retail, fashion accessories, luxury retail, or lifestyle retail.
- Understanding of merchandise planning and category management.
- Candidates with strong Excel skills and retail inventory exposure will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and numerical ability.
- Inventory management and stock control knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting formulas).
- Attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
