The Store keeper is responsible for managing and supervising the storage, receipt, and issue of goods in a store. Main job is to ensure materials and products are properly stored, recorded, and available when needed.
Main Duties of a Store Keeper
- Receiving goods and checking for damage or shortages
- Keeping records of stock and inventory
- Organizing and storing items properly
- Issuing materials or products as requested
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the store
- Preparing inventory reports and stock statements
- Coordinating with suppliers and other departments
- Using inventory software or maintaining manual records
- Conducting regular stock audits
Skills Required
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Communication and record-keeping skills
- Knowledge of inventory management
Qualifications
- Any Graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in storekeeping or warehouse work may be preferred
- Knowledge of inventory software can be an advantage
