We are a leading MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Consulting Firm specializing in sustainable and efficient building designs across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Electrical Draftsman to join our Mumbai-based engineering team.
Role Summary
The Electrical Draftsman will be responsible for transforming rough designs and conceptual sketches from senior MEP Engineers into precise, comprehensive electrical drawings and schematics. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical systems, strong drawing accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Design: Translate engineering data and schematics into detailed working drawings using AutoCAD.
- Electrical Layouts: Prepare precise layouts for lighting, power distribution, cable trays, raceways, earthing/grounding, and lightning protection systems.
- Schematics & Diagrams: Draft Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), riser diagrams, and detailed layouts for Electrical and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) rooms.
- Coordination: Review architectural, structural, and other MEP service drawings (HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting) to resolve design clashes and avoid on-site conflicts.
- Documentation & Take-offs: Assist engineers in basic quantity take-offs, maintain drawing registers, and prepare accurate As-built drawings upon project completion.
- Compliance: Ensure all drafting work adheres to relevant Indian Standards (IS) and Electrical Codes and internal consultancy standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: ITI in Draughtsman (Electrical), or relevant technical certification.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of proven hands-on experience in electrical drafting, specifically within an MEP consulting or contracting environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Mandatory proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Basic knowledge of Revit MEP is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for technical documentation.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team.
