Job Description: Vice Principal

Position Overview
The Vice Principal assists the Principal in providing strategic leadership, academic excellence, and effective administration of the school. The role involves supervising teaching and learning, managing school operations, ensuring student discipline, supporting faculty development, maintaining communication with parents, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership
- Assist in implementing the school's vision, mission, and academic goals.
- Monitor curriculum planning and classroom delivery.
- Ensure effective implementation of CBSE guidelines and educational policies.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies and technology integration.
- Analyze student performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
2. Faculty Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Assist in recruitment, induction, and orientation of new employees.
- Organize professional development programs, workshops, and training sessions.
- Ensure adherence to school policies, attendance, and professional conduct.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work culture.
3. Student Welfare & Discipline
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and disciplined school environment.
- Address student behavioral concerns through positive discipline practices.
- Coordinate counseling and student support services.
- Promote character development, leadership, and life skills.
- Ensure student safety and well-being across the campus.
4. School Administration
- Assist in daily school administration and operational planning.
- Develop academic calendars, examination schedules, and activity plans.
- Coordinate admissions, examinations, and school events.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE norms and statutory regulations.
- Oversee documentation, records, and reporting systems.
5. Parent & Community Engagement
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Address parent concerns promptly and professionally.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings and orientation programs.
- Represent the school at educational events and community initiatives.
- Strengthen partnerships with stakeholders to enhance the school's reputation.
6. Quality Assurance
- Monitor academic standards and institutional performance.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure continuous review of teaching-learning practices.
- Coordinate internal audits and academic reviews.
- Support accreditation and compliance activities.
7. Event & Activity Management
- Supervise co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Coordinate annual functions, sports events, educational trips, and competitions.
- Encourage holistic development through student participation.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure implementation of child protection and safeguarding policies.
- Monitor health, hygiene, and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure compliance with government and CBSE safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory)
- Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership or School Administration are desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience in a recognized school.
- At least 2–3 years in an academic leadership role such as Academic Coordinator, Head of Department, or Vice Principal.
- Experience in a CBSE-affiliated school is preferred.
