Job Title: IP Billing Manager
Department: Hospital Billing / Revenue Cycle Management
Experience: 5–10+ years in hospital billing, preferably with IP billing and insurance/TPA experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete Inpatient (IP) billing cycle from admission through discharge and final settlement.
- Supervise and guide IP billing executives and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Monitor billing accuracy for room charges, pharmacy, diagnostics, procedures, packages, and other hospital services.
- Review and approve high-value, complex, and disputed bills.
- Coordinate with Insurance/TPA, Finance, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, and other departments.
- Monitor insurance pre-authorizations, interim bills, final bills, and claim documentation.
- Track unbilled revenue, pending bills, deductions, denials, and outstanding insurance claims.
- Ensure timely discharge billing and minimize billing delays.
- Identify billing errors, revenue leakages, and process gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor daily/monthly billing targets and prepare MIS and management reports.
- Handle patient/attendant billing escalations and resolve complaints.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, insurance/TPA requirements, and applicable billing procedures.
- Train staff on billing processes, hospital software, documentation, and customer service.
- Conduct regular audits of IP bills and maintain billing controls.
- Support management in improving revenue collection, billing efficiency, and overall revenue cycle performance.
