ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Data Platform Specialist – Databricks builds, and evolves intelligent data platforms to support enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and AI workloads, while providing technical expertise in platform engineering, optimization, security, and governance. The role focuses on building advanced analytics platforms using the Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Microsoft AI capabilities to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data and AI solutions, while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices across the data and AI-Ops ecosystem.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions using AI and advanced analytics
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines, Lakehouse architecture, and AI workflows
- Ensure performance, reliability, and continuous optimization of enterprise data platforms and reporting systems
- Implement security and governance best practices using Unity Catalog and platform controls
- Enable cross-platform data interoperability through modern integration patterns and Microsoft AI agents
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Scientists, DevOps, and Business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement through adoption of emerging tools, AI capabilities, and platform features
- Maintain and evolve the Databricks-based data platform for analytics, AI, and operational workloads
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or engineering is required
- 4–7 years of experience in Data Engineering, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in AIOps and Databricks on Azure
- Strong expertise in building scalable, secure data solutions leveraging advanced analytics
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark
- Strong expertise in Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, including Genie, AI agents, and Unity Catalog for security and governance
- Solid understanding of data platform optimization, scalability, and reliability
- Strong knowledge of data interoperability and integration with the Microsoft ecosystem, including AI agents
- Experience with CI/CD, automation, and platform engineering best practices
