Job Summary:
The Painter is responsible for carrying out painting, surface preparation, and finishing work across the factory premises. The role ensures that buildings, equipment, and infrastructure are well-maintained, protected from corrosion, and aesthetically presentable while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling cracks before painting.
- Apply primer, paint, varnish, and protective coatings on factory buildings, machinery, pipelines, and equipment.
- Perform touch-up painting and repainting as part of preventive maintenance.
- Mix and match paint colors as per specifications.
- Inspect painted surfaces and ensure high-quality finishing.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials.
- Follow workplace safety procedures while handling paints, solvents, and chemicals.
- Maintain records of painting activities and material consumption.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team for scheduled shutdown and maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in the work area.
Qualifications:
- ITI/Technical Certification or equivalent preferred.
- 5–7 years of painting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques, coatings, and safety practices.
