Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welding Inspector (CSWIP Certified) to join our Quality Assurance team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all welding and fabrication activities comply with project specifications, approved WPS/PQR, applicable codes, and customer requirements. The role involves inspection of welded components, preparation of quality documentation, coordination with third-party inspectors, and ensuring compliance with ASME, ASTM, API, and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual inspection of welds and fabricated components.
Verify welding activities are carried out as per approved WPS, PQR, and welding procedures.
Review and maintain welding records, material test certificates (MTCs), and inspection reports.
Conduct fit-up inspections prior to welding.
Coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) with approved agencies.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS, and customer specifications.
Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing activities.
Monitor welder qualification records and certification validity.
Prepare final quality dossiers and manufacturing record books (MRBs).
Interface with customers, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies during inspections.
Raise NCRs and monitor corrective actions.
Support internal quality audits and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certification (Mandatory)
Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in welding inspection and fabrication quality control.
Experience in pressure vessels, piping, strainers, valves, process equipment, or oil & gas fabrication preferred.
Familiarity with welding processes such as GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, SAW, and FCAW.
Knowledge of NDT methods and interpretation of reports.
Ability to read fabrication drawings, weld maps, P&IDs, and engineering specifications.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO standards.
Experience handling client and third-party inspections.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation.
