About the Role
Naruvi Hospitals is seeking a skilled and compassionate Consultant Neurologist to join our Neurology Department. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care for patients with neurological disorders. The consultant will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care and contribute to the growth of neurological services within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with a broad range of neurological disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Assess and treat conditions including:
- Stroke and cerebrovascular diseases
- Epilepsy and seizure disorders
- Headache and migraine disorders
- Movement disorders (Parkinson's disease, tremors, dystonia)
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases
- Peripheral neuropathies
- Dementia and cognitive disorders
- Neuroinfections and neurodegenerative diseases
- Interpret neurological investigations including EEG, EMG, Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), CT, and MRI findings.
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, rehabilitation specialists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Participate in acute stroke management and emergency neurological consultations.
- Provide patient and family education regarding neurological conditions, treatment options, and long-term disease management.
- Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation and compliance with hospital policies and clinical guidelines.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, CMEs, and academic activities.
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals where applicable.
Qualifications
- DM/DNB in Neurology (or equivalent qualification recognised by the National Medical Commission).
- MD/DNB in General Medicine as the qualifying postgraduate degree.
- Valid Medical Council registration.
Experience
- Minimum: 1 year
- Maximum: 5 years
- Experience in managing acute neurological emergencies, stroke care, and neurophysiological procedures is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing neurological disorders.
- Proficiency in interpreting neurological investigations and neuroimaging.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, patient counselling, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient safety, and ethical medical practice.
Work Schedule
- Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts
- Working Hours: 9 hours per day
- Working Days: 6 days per week
- Participation in emergency, stroke, and on-call duties as per departmental roster.
Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
