Job Description – Production & Planning Manager/Supervisor (Electrical Panels)

Working Days: 6 Days a Week (Monday – Saturday)

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production & Planning Manager to lead and manage end-to-end production operations for LT, HT, Specialized, and Marine Electrical Panels. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, shop floor execution, manpower management, coordination with cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality panels while maintaining productivity, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare and monitor production plans and schedules based on project priorities and delivery commitments
- Plan manufacturing activities for LT, HT, Specialized, and Marine electrical panels
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and resources
- Coordinate material availability with Purchase and Stores teams to avoid production delays
2. Shop Floor Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day production activities including fabrication, assembly, busbar, wiring, and testing coordination
- Allocate manpower effectively across production activities and shifts
- Monitor daily production targets and ensure adherence to delivery schedules
- Ensure smooth workflow and maintain discipline on the shop floor
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Estimation, QA/QC, Stores, Purchase, and Project teams for smooth project execution
- Resolve production-related technical and operational issues in coordination with internal teams
- Support planning for FAT, inspections, dispatch, and project handover activities
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, approved drawings, and manufacturing procedures
- Implement and monitor safety practices and shop-floor compliance requirements
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to minimize rework and improve first-pass quality
- Ensure compliance with company processes and industry standards
5. Process Improvement & Productivity Enhancement
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions for improved efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, and cost optimization
- Monitor production KPIs, manpower productivity, and operational performance
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing and process improvement practices where applicable
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to production status, productivity, and project progress
- Track production performance against targets and report variances to management
- Maintain production records, planning data, and operational documentation
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical panel manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations
- Hands-on experience in production planning, scheduling, and execution
- Good understanding of LT/HT panel assembly, fabrication, wiring, and testing processes
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Knowledge of quality systems, safety practices, and manufacturing standards
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize production activities effectively
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, production planning tools, and ERP systems
Qualifications
- Diploma / BE in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Production / Operations Management certifications will be an added advantage
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in electrical panel manufacturing industry
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a production leadership or managerial role
- Experience in LT/HT/Specialized/Marine panel manufacturing preferred
