ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior SAP Basis Consultant to join our SAP Practice team at iMed IT Solutions, supporting Burjeel Holdings — one of the largest integrated healthcare groups in the Middle East. The successful candidate will assist in the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP ECC systems, working alongside senior consultants to ensure system availability, performance, and security across healthcare facilities in the UAE and Oman.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Assist in SAP Basis administration including system monitoring, user management, transport management, and background job scheduling
▪ Support SAP system installations, upgrades, patches (kernel, support packs), and enhancement pack implementations under senior guidance
▪ Monitor and maintain SAP system performance, database health, and system logs using SAP Solution Manager and OS-level tools
▪ Perform client copy, system refresh, and system landscape management activities across Development, Quality, and Production environments
▪ Manage SAP user accounts, role assignments, password resets, and access provisioning in coordination with the security team
▪ Support printer and spool administration, RFC connections, and batch job monitoring
▪ Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and resolution of Basis-related tickets via ServiceNow/JIRA
▪ Maintain technical documentation including system landscape diagrams, SOPs, and change records
▪ Support backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery drills, and high availability configurations
▪ Collaborate with functional consultants (IS-H, MM, FI) and development teams (ABAP) to resolve cross-module technical issues
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
▪ 2+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration (SAP ECC 6.0, S/4HANA)
▪ Basic knowledge of SAP system architecture, application servers, message servers, and dispatcher processes
▪ Familiarity with SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and Change and Transport System (CTS)
▪ Understanding of database administration concepts (HANA, Sybase)
▪ Experience with operating systems: Linux (SUSE) and Windows Server
▪ Basic knowledge of SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and alerting
▪ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
▪ Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
▪ Willingness to participate in on-call support rotations and after-hours maintenance windows
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
▪ SAP Certified Technology Associate — System Administration (SAP HANA)
▪ Experience with SAP Fiori/Gateway administration and configuration
▪ Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) hosting SAP workloads
▪ ITIL Foundation certification or awareness of IT service management practices
