Job Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure excellent customer service, efficient operations, and achievement of business goals. This role assists in supervising staff, maintaining food quality and safety standards, managing inventory, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations
- Ensure smooth front-of-house and back-of-house coordination
- Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints professionally and promptly
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
Staff Supervision
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff
- Supervise employees during shifts and maintain productivity
- Prepare staff schedules and manage attendance
- Motivate team members to achieve performance standards
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback
Customer Service
- Maintain high standards of guest experience
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively
- Build positive relationships with regular customers
- Ensure a welcoming and clean dining environment
Financial & Inventory Control
- Assist in managing budgets and controlling operational costs
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock ordering
- Support cash handling and daily sales reconciliation
- Help achieve sales targets and profitability goals
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure food handling and sanitation standards are followed
- Maintain workplace safety procedures
- Assist with restaurant audits and inspections
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant management software
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
