The Role
We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer with ideally 1 to 2 years (freshers are welcome as well from IIT, NIT or IIITs) of professional experience. While you may be early in your career, we expect a high level of technical rigor. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end features. You will work across the entire stack, from building responsive user interfaces to designing robust backend APIs and database schemas.
Because we are building complex systems, we require candidates who possess strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), and the ability to think critically about System Design.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable web applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, Python/Django, or similar).
- System Architecture: Participate in early-stage system design discussions. Build scalable, maintainable, and efficient backend services and APIs.
- Problem Solving: Apply advanced data structures and algorithms to solve complex business and technical challenges efficiently.
- Code Quality: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code. Participate in rigorous code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with founders, product managers, and other engineers to define feature specifications and deliver product milestones.
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and ensure high availability of our systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: Freshers are welcome (IIT, IIIT, NIT). Good to have 2+ years experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Core Engineering Skills: Exceptional grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). You should be comfortable solving complex algorithmic problems efficiently.
- System Design: Foundational understanding of system design principles, distributed systems, database modeling, and API design.
- Frontend Technologies: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
- Backend Technologies: Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or C#) and experience with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Databases: Experience with relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an early-stage startup environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Our Interview Process
We hold our engineering team to the highest standards. Our interview process is rigorous, modeled after top-tier tech companies, and is designed to thoroughly evaluate your technical depth and problem-solving abilities. The process consists of 8 to 9 rounds:
- Initial Recruiter Screen (30 mins): Discuss your background, experience, and alignment with our startup's mission.
- Technical Phone Screen (45 mins): Basic coding and algorithmic problem-solving.
- Coding Round 1 - Data Structures & Algorithms (45 mins): Focus on arrays, strings, and hash maps.
- Coding Round 2 - Advanced DSA (45 mins): Focus on trees, graphs, dynamic programming, and recursion.
- Coding Round 3 - Practical Application (45 mins): Machine coding or building a small functional component/API from scratch.
- System Design - Fundamentals (45 mins): High-level architecture, database schema design, and API design for a scalable system.
- System Design - Deep Dive (45 mins): Scaling, load balancing, caching strategies, and handling bottlenecks.
- Behavioral & Culture Fit (45 mins): Discuss past experiences, conflict resolution, and adaptability in a startup environment.
- Founder Interview (30 mins): Final conversation regarding vision, equity, and mutual expectations.
