Job Summary
The Secondary Computer Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging computer science and information technology lessons to students in secondary grades. The role involves developing students' digital literacy, programming skills, computational thinking, and responsible use of technology while creating a positive and interactive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver computer science and IT lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach topics such as computer fundamentals, programming, web technologies, cybersecurity, digital citizenship, databases, multimedia, and productivity tools.
- Integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction.
- Design and conduct practical laboratory sessions.
- Assess student learning through assignments, projects, quizzes, and examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
- Encourage innovation, creativity, and problem-solving through project-based learning.
- Ensure the safe and appropriate use of computer laboratory equipment and software.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate relevant practices into teaching.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development programs, parent-teacher meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Support school events, competitions, coding clubs, and technology-related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred or as required by local regulations).
- Relevant teaching certification, where applicable.
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level preferred.
- Experience with CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, or State Board curriculum is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of computer science concepts and programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and educational technology platforms.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for students.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional learning.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience with coding platforms, robotics, AI, or STEM education.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to organize coding competitions, hackathons, or technology clubs.
Working Conditions

Pay: ₹9,763.76 - ₹33,679.54 per month
