Job Summary:
An Electrician installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. They ensure electrical work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Inspect electrical systems and identify faults or safety hazards.
- Test electrical components using specialized tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions.
- Install and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, panels, and lighting systems.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of an electrician apprenticeship or vocational training program.
- Valid electrician license or certification (as required by local regulations).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, automation, or smart building technologies.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
Working Conditions
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
