We are seeking a Junior Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, inspection engineering, and ISO documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out incoming raw material inspection — MS plates, angles, flats, and structural sections — as per customer specifications
- Perform in-process and final inspection of fabricated assemblies including dimensional checks, weld visual inspection, and fit-up verification
- Review and prepare QC documents — Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, Material Test Certificates (MTC), and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Co-ordinate with third-party inspection agencies and client QA representatives during source inspection and final acceptance
- Identify non-conformances, raise NCRs, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain calibration records for all measuring and testing instruments
- Support internal and external audits; ensure shop-floor documentation is current and complete
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics — rejection rate, rework cost, customer complaints
Qualifications
- Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering
- 0-3 years of quality experience in a sheet metal or structural fabrication environment
- Hands-on experience with basic dimensional inspection tools (vernier, height gauge, angle gauge, profile gauge)
- Familiarity with galvanising / surface treatment inspection — coating thickness, adhesion tests
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience preparing and maintaining QC documentation
