The Assistant Manager Nursing Care is responsible for ensuring that patient care is coordinated and managed appropriately. She is responsible for ensuring that patient and family care services are delivered appropriately.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Takes Edit form Night Shift Supervisor and MOD before commencing of the shift.
2) Conduct rounds of acutely ill patients with Lead Nurse Specialist i.e. induction, severe PIH, Eclampsia.
3) Calculates day-today census of each floor and thereby of the center.
4) Shuffles the staffs as per the requirement and competency required in specified areas. Maintains adequate Nurse: Patient ratio.
5) Conducts inter-floor rotation of staffs based on the need ensuring the skill mix and clinical competency.
6) Maintain the duty roster of incharges and make sure that shifts are carried out as per the duty assigned.
7) Keeps a consistent check on the staff activities and motivates them.
8) Guides the Nurse Educator Infection Control Nurse to conduct Onboard Training (OBT) and On Job Training (OJT) for Nurses.
9) Assists in the screening and interviewing process of new employees and makes recommendations for employment of individuals. Assists in the orientation of new employees.
10) Establishes a process model for continuous improvement and provides education and training to organization personnel as directed.
11) Interacts with patients and accordingly ensures a pro-active patient interaction and feedback system.
12) Is appraised of all in patient conditions and needs through interaction with nursing team and staff.
13) Co-ordinates with the consultants to ensure that good nursing care is provided.
14) Supervises and guides staffs to perform procedures as per the policies and protocols.
15) Investigates reports of incidents, suspected infections, patient / doctor complaints and resolves problems or makes recommendation for action.
16) Coordinates conducts committee meetings driven by Nursing based on the periodicity recommended as per the terms of reference.
17) Responsible for day to day management of all nursing staff including annual performance reviews as required and any performance management issues.
18) Performs other duties and activities as assigned by the Business Head of the respective unit and Director of Nursing Services .
19) Monitors Nurse Educator Infection Control Nurse in conducting monthly audits and ensures closures.
20) Performs floor register check monthly once and Mentors the Lead Nurse Specialist in entering the evidenced based data.
