We are looking for a Planning Engineer – Civil to plan, monitor, and control construction activities from project commencement through completion. The candidate will coordinate with the site team, client, consultants, vendors, and management to ensure projects are completed within the planned time, cost, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project schedules and work programs.
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly construction plans.
- Monitor actual progress against the approved project schedule.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and project status updates.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Purchase, Accounts, and Vendors.
- Track manpower, materials, equipment, and other project resources.
- Identify delays, variations, and potential project risks and report them to management.
- Prepare planned vs. actual progress reports.
- Assist in preparing quantity requirements and procurement schedules.
- Coordinate with the site team to ensure materials are available as per the construction sequence.
- Monitor subcontractor and vendor progress.
- Update project schedules based on site conditions and approved changes.
- Prepare look-ahead plans for upcoming activities.
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, schedules, and progress records.
- Attend project review meetings and provide planning updates.
- Coordinate with consultants and clients regarding project progress and timelines.
- Support the Project Manager in achieving project milestones and completion targets.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Civil Construction Planning and Scheduling.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and construction planning software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Project / Primavera P6 is an advantage.
- Ability to prepare progress reports and planning documents.
- Good understanding of construction activities and work sequences.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze project delays and prepare recovery plans.
- Good knowledge of quantity, manpower, and material tracking.
Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Relevant experience in residential, commercial, or other construction projects is preferred.
