Job Summary
The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and services required for FMCG manufacturing operations. The role ensures timely procurement of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining optimum inventory levels and building strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, ingredients, and consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production interruptions.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stores and Production for material requirements.
- Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely order processing.
- Track deliveries and resolve supply delays or shortages.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and company specifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team for vendor quality compliance.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations and maintain an approved vendor list.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and availability of materials to optimize procurement costs.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
- Monitor procurement budgets and prepare cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
- Coordinate with Finance for invoice verification and vendor payment processing.
- Support audits by maintaining complete procurement documentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Materials Management is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in procurement within the FMCG/Food Manufacturing industry.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in sourcing food ingredients, packaging materials, and production consumables is preferred.

Candidates with experience in sourcing the following for FMCG/Food manufacturing will be preferred:
- Food ingredients and additives
- Frozen food raw materials
- Packaging materials (pouches, cartons, labels, films)
- Spices and seasonings
- Oils, grains, and other food commodities
- Production consumables and maintenance items
Pay: From ₹60,000.00 per month
