Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Snowflake & DBT
Location: Chennai (Hybrid)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake and DBT (Data Build Tool) to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of recent hands-on experience in both Snowflake and DBT and possess strong experience in developing modern data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
Note: Candidates with experience primarily in the Healthcare domain will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and DBT.
- Build and optimize cloud-based data warehouse solutions for analytics and reporting.
- Develop ELT/ETL workflows to ingest, transform, and curate data from multiple sources.
- Optimize SQL queries, data models, and Snowflake performance for large-scale datasets.
- Implement data quality checks, testing, and monitoring using DBT best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and architects to understand data requirements.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are followed.
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve platform performance.
- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of current hands-on experience in both Snowflake and DBT (mandatory).
- Strong SQL programming and data modeling skills.
- Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
