Job Description
The MEP Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities in construction projects. The role ensures timely project execution by coordinating with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders while maintaining quality and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning & Scheduling
Develop detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
Prepare baseline programs, look-ahead schedules (weekly/monthly)
Define Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for MEP works
2. Monitoring & Control
Track project progress against the baseline schedule
Prepare and update Weekly Progress Reports (WPR) and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR)
Identify delays, critical activities, and suggest mitigation plans
3. Coordination
Coordinate with MEP teams for smooth workflow
Liaise with subcontractors and vendors for progress tracking
Ensure alignment with client timelines and milestones
4. Resource Planning
Plan manpower, materials, and equipment requirements
Monitor resource utilization and productivity
5. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare project dashboards, S-curves, and MIS reports
Maintain project documentation and logs
Assist in preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims
6. Risk & Delay Analysis
Perform delay analysis (e.g., critical path method - CPM)
Highlight risks and recommend corrective actions
