About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven and hands-on Nursery Manager to oversee plant production, quality maintenance, and operational optimisation across partner nurseries. This is a 100% field-based role requiring daily visits to nurseries to ensure healthy plant growth, production planning, quality consistency, and process efficiency.
The ideal candidate should have strong nursery operations knowledge, plant care expertise, and the ability to work closely with growers and vendors on-ground.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
1. Plant Production Management
- Oversee daily nursery operations and plant production cycles.
- Ensure timely sowing, propagation, repotting, pruning, and harvesting activities.
- Monitor production planning based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Coordinate with nursery teams to maintain optimal plant availability.
2. Plant Quality Maintenance
- Conduct regular quality inspections across nurseries.
- Ensure plants meet Urvann’s quality standards for health, size, freshness, and appearance.
- Identify and resolve issues related to pests, diseases, watering, nutrition, and plant stress.
- Implement preventive and corrective measures for plant health management.
3. Operations & Process Optimisation
- Improve nursery productivity, wastage control, and operational efficiency.
- Standardise nursery practices and SOP adherence.
- Track plant losses, mortality rates, and recovery measures.
- Work closely with vendors and internal teams for continuous process improvement.
4. Field Coordination & Reporting
- Visit nurseries daily and maintain on-ground operational oversight.
- Share daily updates, audit reports, and improvement plans with the management team.
- Build strong relationships with nursery partners and ensure smooth coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in nursery management, horticulture, or plant operations.
- Strong understanding of plant production and plant health management.
- Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and daily travel.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive execution on-ground.
Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month
