I. POSITION OVERVIEW
The General Manager – Electrical Sales will be responsible for leading the business
development strategy and securing large-scale electrical contracting projects within the MEP
and EPC sectors. This role requires a strategic leader who can navigate the complex
contracting landscape, build high-level alliances with developers, and ensure the company
remains a preferred partner for major infrastructure and commercial projects.
II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Business Development
- Market Penetration: Identify and secure new opportunities for electrical contracting
in high-rise residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
- Pre-Qualification (PQ): Lead the corporate registration process to ensure the
company is pre-qualified with top-tier developers, government authorities, and MEP
consultants.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor bidding patterns and market trends to
position the company’s commercial proposals effectively.
2. Tender & Bid Management
- Strategic Oversight: Collaborate with the estimation and technical teams to ensure
that all bid submissions are accurate, technically robust, and commercially optimized.
- Value Engineering: Lead technical workshops with consultants to defend design
proposals and offer cost-effective, high-quality alternatives.
- Contractual Risk Management: Review contract terms (payment cycles, retentions,
and delivery timelines) to ensure commercial viability before project commitment.
3. Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Consultant Influence: Maintain strong relationships with MEP Consultants and
Architects to ensure the company is "specified" or invited to bid at the design stage. Main Contractor Alliances: Develop strategic partnerships with General Contractors
to participate in major turnkey EPC tenders.
- Vendor Coordination: Partner with major electrical OEMs to secure project-specific
pricing and technical support.
III. REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
- Professional Experience: * 8–12 years of experience in Sales or Business
Development within the MEP / Electrical Contracting industry.
o At least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the EPC Project Lifecycle—
from design and tendering to procurement and final handover.
- Network: An active professional network within the regional construction,
engineering, and developer community.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education: * B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).
- MBA in Marketing or Finance is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: * Proficiency in reading Electrical Single Line Diagrams
(SLDs) and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of commercial contract terms and project documentation.
- Leadership Skills: * High-Stakes Negotiation: Ability to influence and close deals
with senior project stakeholders.
Executive Presence: Superior presentation skills for boardroom-level
engagement.
V. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
1. Order Booking: Achievement of annual sales and contract targets.
2. Bid-to-Win Ratio: Improvement in the success rate of tender submissions.
3. Pipeline Growth: Increase in the volume of qualified tender invitations.
4. Client Acquisition: Successful registration with new "Tier-1" developers and
consultants.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
