Role Summary
The Fitness Manager owns day-to-day floor operations, trainer performance, and member experience at the assigned location — driving retention, upsells, and a consistently high-quality gym floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily gym floor operations, cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and safety standards
- Manage, schedule, and performance-coach the trainer/PT team
- Drive PT package sales, PT renewals, and upgrade conversions
- Lead new member onboarding and induction — fitness assessment, orientation session, goal-setting, and first-week check-ins to ensure smooth integration and early engagement
- Ensure every new member completes a structured induction (equipment walkthrough, safety briefing, initial program plan) within their first visit/week
- Monitor and act on member feedback; handle escalations professionally
- Track and report KPIs — attendance, PT conversion, renewal rate, churn, onboarding completion rate
- Conduct floor audits and ensure SOP compliance across sessions
- Coordinate with sales/front-desk team for lead follow-up and walk-in conversions
- Plan and execute in-gym member engagement events/challenges
- Liaise with management on staffing, equipment needs, and facility issues
Requirements
- 3–5 years in gym/fitness center management or senior PT role
- Proven track record in team management and revenue targets (PT/membership sales)
- Strong communication and client-handling skills
- Certification in Personal Training / Fitness (preferred: ACE, K11, NASM, ACSM)
- Comfortable with basic reporting (Excel/CRM)
