About the Role
PM Publishers Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a passionate and experienced Maths Editor with expertise in Computational Thinking (CT) to develop, review, edit, and enhance mathematics content for school textbooks and digital learning resources. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of school mathematics, computational thinking concepts, and the latest curriculum frameworks, including NEP 2020 and NCF 2022.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, proofread, and review Mathematics manuscripts for conceptual accuracy, language, and consistency.
- Integrate Computational Thinking (CT) concepts into mathematics content through problem-solving, logical reasoning, decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking.
- Ensure content aligns with NEP 2020, NCF 2022, CBSE, ICSE, and State Board curriculum requirements.
- Verify mathematical calculations, formulas, diagrams, graphs, tables, and worked-out examples for accuracy.
- Develop engaging activities, real-life applications, projects, and higher-order thinking questions.
- Review assessment items, competency-based questions, case studies, and experiential learning activities.
- Collaborate with authors, illustrators, designers, and production teams to deliver high-quality educational resources.
- Review page proofs and coordinate corrections before final publication.
- Maintain consistency in editorial style, terminology, formatting, and mathematical notation.
- Suggest innovative teaching-learning strategies to make mathematics engaging and learner-centric.
- Use AI-powered tools to improve editorial efficiency, content quality, and research.
Computational Thinking Responsibilities
- Design and review CT-based mathematical activities.
- Incorporate algorithmic thinking and step-by-step problem-solving approaches.
- Develop exercises involving logical reasoning, sequencing, pattern recognition, abstraction, and decomposition.
- Create age-appropriate coding-free and coding-integrated CT activities where applicable.
- Promote inquiry-based, competency-based, and experiential learning through mathematics.
Required Skills
- Strong conceptual knowledge of school Mathematics (Primary to Secondary level).
- Sound understanding of Computational Thinking and its classroom applications.
- Excellent command of English with strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with competency-based education and assessment practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and PDF editing tools.
- Knowledge of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet publishing deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in educational publishing or school textbook development.
- Familiarity with international and national educational frameworks.
- Experience in developing teacher resources, worksheets, question banks, and digital learning content.
- Understanding of coding concepts, STEM education, or mathematics pedagogy will be an added advantage.
