About Vulcan Rig
Vulcan Rig is a sci-fi tower defense and extraction game where players deploy massive industrial rigs onto hostile alien planets. Players build infrastructure, extract resources, research technologies, and survive waves of creatures belonging to unique alien species.
The game is currently in active development with core gameplay systems already implemented. We are looking for a 3D artist to help create and expand the visual identity of the game.
Responsibilities
- Create low-poly to mid-poly 3D assets for gameplay.
- Model alien creatures, buildings, resource nodes, and environmental props.
- Help establish consistent visual themes for different alien species and factions.
- Create modular asset sets that can be reused across multiple planets and biomes.
- Texture and optimize assets for real-time rendering.
- Collaborate on the visual direction of new species, structures, and gameplay mechanics.
- Iterate on assets based on gameplay requirements and feedback.
Required Skills
- Strong Blender skills.
- Experience creating game-ready assets.
- Understanding of topology, UV mapping, texturing, and optimization.
- Ability to work within a defined art style.
- Ability to create both organic and mechanical designs.
- Experience exporting assets for game engines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Godot Engine.
- Experience creating low-poly stylized art.
- Knowledge of procedural asset workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted 3D tools such as TRELLIS, Rodin, Tripo, Meshy, or similar tools.
- Basic animation or rigging skills.
- Concept art or sketching ability.
