About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Commis II (Cook) to join our Food Production team at our Mahape facility. The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing food products in a commercial kitchen or food manufacturing environment. Experience in the production of sausages and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food products will be an added advantage.
The candidate should possess a good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, recipe adherence, and large-scale food production processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Production
- Prepare food products as per standardized recipes, production schedules, and quality specifications.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of sausages, Ready-to-Eat (RTE), and Ready-to-Cook (RTC) food products.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, appearance, and portion sizes.
- Follow production plans to achieve daily manufacturing targets.
- Measure ingredients accurately and maintain recipe standards.
Quality & Food Safety
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HACCP, and FSSAI guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in the production area.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards before moving to packaging.
- Report any product quality issues or process deviations to the Production Supervisor.
Equipment Handling
- Operate cooking equipment, mixers, grinders, steam kettles, ovens, and other food processing equipment safely.
- Perform basic cleaning and routine maintenance of kitchen and production equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly to the maintenance team.
Inventory & Material Handling
- Handle raw materials carefully and ensure proper storage as per food safety standards.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices while using ingredients.
- Minimize wastage of raw materials and maintain production efficiency.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Packaging, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse departments.
- Support Production Supervisors in achieving daily production targets.
- Maintain discipline and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of commercial cooking and food production techniques.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, GMP, HACCP, and FSSAI standards.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production procedures.
- Basic knowledge of food processing and cooking equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under production deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality.
Educational Qualification
- Certificate/Diploma in Hotel Management, Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- SSC/HSC with relevant experience in food production may also apply.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 1–3 years of experience as a Commis II, Cook, or Food Production Associate.
- Experience in the Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Central Kitchen, or Hospitality Industry will be preferred.
- Experience in preparing sausages, Ready-to-Eat (RTE), or Ready-to-Cook (RTC) food products will be an added advantage.
- Freshers with relevant culinary education and practical training may also be considered.
