A Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking high-quality meals while ensuring food safety and kitchen hygiene standards. They supervise kitchen staff, manage food inventory, and maintain consistency in food presentation and taste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
- Plan menus and develop new recipes.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Order and manage kitchen supplies and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
- Minimize food waste and control kitchen costs.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Culinary certification or relevant training is an advantage.
