A Hospital Floor Manager (also known as a Clinical Unit Manager or Floor Supervisor) oversees the daily operations of a specific ward or department to ensure efficient workflow, staff coordination, and high standards of patient care. They serve as the central point of contact between clinical staff, physicians, patients, and hospital administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations: Manage patient flow by overseeing admissions, transfers, and discharges. Ensure the ward, rooms, and bathrooms are clean and well-maintained.
- Staff Management: Supervise nursing and support staff (like housekeeping and attendants). Handle shift scheduling, monitor performance, address attendance issues, and provide on-the-job training.
- Patient Care & Experience: Coordinate with doctors during daily rounds and facilitate timely treatments. Handle patient and attendant concerns professionally, ensuring quick resolution and high satisfaction.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce hospital policies, infection control protocols (like hand hygiene and PPE availability), and fall prevention. Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and maintain accurate records/registers.
- Reporting: Prepare daily operational reports regarding patient counts, billing status, and any facility or equipment issues, and coordinate with the head hospital manager.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration (BHA), Healthcare Management, Nursing (B.Sc Nursing), or a related field.
- Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of experience in hospital operations, nursing supervision, or healthcare administration. Prior experience as a Ward In-charge is highly valued.
- Key Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution, and proficiency in Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
