SyRVN is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support accurate and timely accounting, project financial management, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and audit readiness. This position requires extensive hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint and the ability to work independently in the system to research transactions, maintain project and general-ledger data, resolve discrepancies, and produce reliable financial information. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, disciplined documentation, analytical judgment, and a service-oriented approach to collaboration across SyRVN’s Finance, Contracts, Project Management, Payroll, and Operations functions.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead assigned month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, prepaid expenses, recurring entries, and account analysis.
· Prepare and review balance-sheet reconciliations, general-ledger schedules, income-statement analyses, and supporting workpapers; investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
· Maintain accurate project, organization, account, and cost data in Deltek Costpoint in accordance with the company’s accounting structure and internal controls.
· Use Deltek Costpoint for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting, billing, cash receipts, and financial reporting activities, as applicable to the assigned portfolio.
· Review project costs, labor, indirect charges, revenue, billing, and unbilled balances; identify anomalies and coordinate corrections with project and operational teams.
· Support customer invoicing and billing reconciliations, including cost-plus, time-and-materials, and fixed-price arrangements, as applicable.
· Reconcile subsidiary records and interfaces to the general ledger, including AP, AR, payroll/labor, fixed assets, bank accounts, and project ledgers.
· Prepare monthly financial and management reports, variance explanations, cash-flow support, and ad hoc analyses for leadership.
· Support indirect-rate calculations, pool and base reviews, allocations, and related reporting when required by the organization’s contract environment.
· Assist with internal, external, customer, and government audits by preparing schedules, retrieving Costpoint support, responding to questions, and tracking open items.
· Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation and comply with accounting policies, approval requirements, segregation of duties, and record-retention standards.
· Identify opportunities to improve Costpoint configurations, reports, workflows, reconciliations, and close procedures; participate in testing and implementation of approved improvements.
· Provide guidance and review support to junior accounting staff and serve as a knowledgeable Costpoint resource for business partners.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
· At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial responsibility for month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general-ledger accounting.

· Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and U.S. GAAP, including journal entries, account analysis, cut-off, revenue and expense recognition, and financial-statement preparation.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, SUMIFS, data validation, and analysis of large data sets.
· Ability to interpret project and accounting data, trace transactions through the system, identify root causes, and document corrections clearly.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, written communication, and ability to meet recurring deadlines in a controlled environment.
