Overview
A CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathe machines (tooling, offsets, fixtures)
- Operate CNC machines to perform turning, drilling, boring, and threading operations
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed for quality and efficiency
- Measure finished parts using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Troubleshoot machining issues and report defects
- Maintain production records and documentation
- Follow safety procedures and workplace guidelines
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CNC lathe operations and machining processes
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances
- Familiarity with measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge)
- Basic understanding of G-code and M-code (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in shifts and meet production targets
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in CNC lathe operation (depending on role level)
- Experience with Fanuc CNC controllers is an advantage
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
