Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Trainee to support our production and mechanical engineering team in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of precision automation and defence-grade components, while undergoing structured on-the-job training across workshop processes, quality inspection, and documentation practices.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or ITI (Fitter, Machinist, Turner, or related trade)
- Freshers welcome; prior workshop, internship, or apprenticeship exposure preferred
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and dimensional standards
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools, hand-held power tools, and workshop machinery
- Awareness of workshop safety practices and willingness to follow safety protocols
- Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Good attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn under supervision
- Basic computer literacy for maintaining production and inspection records
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in mechanical fabrication, assembly, and machining of components as per engineering drawings and specifications
- Support dimensional and quality checks of parts and sub-assemblies during production
- Maintain tools, jigs, fixtures, and workshop equipment in proper working condition
- Follow safety protocols and ISO 9001:2015 process documentation during shop-floor activities
- Assist senior engineers in prototype development, trials, and testing of mechanical assemblies
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and material-usage records
- Support inventory management and material handling in the mechanical stores as required
- Participate in on-the-job training sessions and apply feedback to improve workmanship.
