Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and result-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead our sales operations in the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG General Trade, with proven expertise in handling Super Stockists (SS), Distributors, and driving both primary and secondary sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary & Secondary Sales: Take full ownership of achieving monthly primary billing targets from Super Stockists and Distributors, while aggressively driving secondary sales from retail outlets to ensure zero stock stagnation.
- Super Stockist (SS) & Channel Management: Identify, appoint, and manage Super Stockists (SS) and Distributors across the territory. Ensure proper inventory management, ROI calculation, and timely settlement of claims/schemes.
- Target Achievement: Develop strategies to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the region.
- Channel Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key partners to ensure product availability.
- Operations & Reporting: Monitor inventory levels, ensure compliance with company policies, and prepare sales reports for senior management
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of Sales Officers (SO) and Territory Sales Incharges (TSI). Monitor their daily working, beat planning, and track productivity metrics (ECO, LPPC).
- Network Expansion: Expand the distribution network by penetrating new towns and increasing the retail footprint (Numeric and Weighted Distribution) for our product portfolio.
- Market Strategy & Execution: Ensure the effective rollout of trade schemes, consumer promotions, and BTL activities. Track competitor activities, pricing, and market trends to provide actionable feedback to the management.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of solid experience in FMCG General Trade sales (Candidates with experience in Edible Oil, Groceries, or Packaged Foods will be highly preferred).
- Proven track record of successfully appointing and managing Super Stockists and large distributor networks.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in sales tracking tools/DMS and basic MS Excel for daily reporting.
- Must be open to extensive travel within the assigned region.
