Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Plumbers for our shipbuilding projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of piping systems onboard vessels, ensuring compliance with marine standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and assemble piping systems for freshwater, seawater, sewage, ballast, fuel, hydraulic, and compressed air lines.
- Read and interpret piping drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and GA drawings.
- Install valves, pumps, flanges, pipe supports, and associated fittings.
- Perform pipe alignment, fit-up, hydrostatic testing, and leak testing.
- Assist in commissioning and troubleshooting of piping systems.
- Coordinate with pipe fitters, welders, QA/QC, and production teams.
- Ensure all installations comply with project specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures, including confined space and hot work requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping and complete assigned work within project timelines.
Requirements
- ITI Plumber / Pipe Fitter or equivalent vocational qualification.
- 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or heavy engineering industries.
- Hands-on experience in marine piping installation and testing.
- Ability to read piping drawings and technical documents.
- Knowledge of different pipe materials, fittings, valves, and marine piping systems.
- Physically fit to work onboard ships, at heights, and in confined spaces.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in new shipbuilding or ship repair projects.
- Familiarity with marine classification standards and quality requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
