We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and operational performance of electrical systems used in commercial buses, electric buses, and EV charging infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, team management, safety compliance, troubleshooting, and ensuring maximum equipment uptime.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance & Operations
- Manage electrical maintenance activities for commercial buses, electric buses, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in buses, charging stations, batteries, motors, controllers, and related systems.
- Ensure maximum fleet availability and minimum vehicle downtime.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
EV Charging Infrastructure
- Manage the operation and maintenance of EV charging stations and charging equipment.
- Monitor charger performance, availability, energy consumption, and fault reports.
- Coordinate with charging station OEMs and service providers for technical support and repairs.
- Ensure proper maintenance of transformers, panels, switchgear, cables, earthing systems, and other electrical infrastructure.
- Support installation, commissioning, and expansion of EV charging facilities.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise electrical technicians, electricians, and maintenance staff.
- Allocate manpower and monitor daily maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance and training to the maintenance team.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and quality standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe working practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Maintain documentation related to electrical inspections, maintenance, and statutory compliance.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Plan and maintain inventory of critical electrical spare parts.
- Coordinate with procurement teams and vendors for spare parts and service requirements.
- Monitor spare consumption and optimize inventory levels.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and equipment history.
- Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fleet uptime, charger availability, MTTR, and MTBF.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Relevant certification or experience in EV technology will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
- Experience in commercial vehicles, electric buses, EV charging stations, automotive, fleet maintenance, or industrial electrical systems preferred.
- Experience in managing maintenance teams and vendors.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of EV charging systems (AC/DC chargers).
- Understanding of LT/HT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, panels, and protection systems.
- Knowledge of batteries, BMS, motors, controllers, and EV electrical architecture.
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
