John Galt International is a 45-year-old heavy diversified fabrication company based in Badlapur, Dist. Thane. We are a national award-winning Defense Equipment Supplier registered with all three armed forces.
Our manufacturing scope includes:
- Process Equipment: Storage tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, reactors
- Structural Fabrication: Girders, pre-engineered structures, platforms, heavy steel structures, mining equipment
We operate 3 manufacturing units with ~15,000 sq. meters of fabrication space, supported by a team of engineers and skilled workmen.
Position: Production Manager (Focused in Structural Fabrication)
Reporting to: Joint CEO
Working Days: Monday – Saturday
Timings: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end execution of multiple projects, with a strong focus on structural fabrication and heavy engineering works. The role demands ownership of planning, execution, client coordination, and commercial control to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed project schedules covering fabrication, machining, assembly, and dispatch
- Define scope, milestones, and deliverables for structural and process equipment projects
- Identify critical path activities, especially for heavy structures and site-dependent work
- Coordinate with design and production teams for drawing release planning
2. Execution & Shop floor Coordination
- Monitor daily progress of structural fabrication (cutting, fit-up, welding, blasting, painting)
- Ensure optimal utilization of shop resources, manpower, and machinery
- Closely work with Factory Manager for load planning and bottleneck resolution
- Drive adherence to production timelines and dispatch schedules
3. Client Coordination & Project Reviews
- Act as single point of contact (SPOC) for clients
- Conduct weekly/monthly review meetings with clients
- Handle:
o Technical clarifications
o Drawing approvals
o Inspection calls
o Variation orders / change requests
4. Costing & Commercial Control
- Prepare and monitor project budgets (material, labor, subcontracting, logistics)
- Track actual vs planned cost and control overruns
- Ensure timely:
o Billing milestones
o RA bills
o Client certifications
- Support procurement in vendor finalization for structural items
5. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to codes such as:
o IS standards, ASME, AWS (welding standards)
- Coordinate with QA/QC for:
o ITPs (Inspection Test Plans)
o NDT (UT, RT, DP, etc.)
o Third-party/client inspections
- Drive closure of NCRs with root cause analysis
6. Structural Fabrication Oversight (Critical Requirement)
o Structural drawings (GA, fabrication drawings)
o Welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
o Material grades (IS 2062, etc.)
o Heavy steel structures
o Girders, columns, beams
o Platforms and industrial structures
- Ensure dimensional accuracy, alignment, and weld quality
7. Team Leadership
- Lead and manage Project Engineers
- Assign responsibilities and track deliverables
- Ensure discipline in reporting, follow-ups, and execution ownership
- Prevent direct escalations to management by maintaining control
8. MIS, Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare project dashboards covering:
o Schedule
o Cost
o Quality
o Risks
- Maintain documentation for:
o Drawings
o Approvals
o Inspection reports
o Change orders
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-Time Delivery (OTD %)
- Budget adherence (within ±5%)
- Billing vs planned milestones
- Client satisfaction (zero escalations)
- Quality metrics (low NCR rate)
- Shop floor coordination efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical
- 5–10 years of experience in:
o Heavy fabrication / structural fabrication / EPC projects
o Shop floor fabrication processes
o Structural steel projects
- Experience with defense or government projects is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, and inspection
- Familiarity with MS Project
- Ability to read and interpret complex structural drawings

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
