A. Crop Planning & Cropping Operations
· Crop calendar: Prepare and maintain a season-wise cropping calendar (Kharif / Rabi / Zaid) suited to shade conditions under and between the solar panels.
· Crop selection: Select crop varieties that perform well in partial-shade agri-voltaic conditions (leafy vegetables, pulses, fodder, medicinal / short-height crops) and suit the Delhi climate.
· Sowing to harvest: Execute the full cycle through labour - land preparation, sowing / transplanting, weeding, thinning, inter-culture and timely harvesting.
· Yield tracking: Track germination, growth stages and expected vs. actual yield for each plot.
B. Soil, Fertilisation & Nutrition
· Soil health: Arrange periodic soil testing and interpret reports to plan nutrient management.
· Fertilisation: Prepare and apply a fertilisation schedule - organic manure / compost, bio-fertilisers and chemical fertilisers (NPK) in correct dosage and timing.
· Sustainable practice: Adopt drip / fertigation-friendly practices and encourage organic, regenerative methods to keep soil productive long-term.
C. Irrigation & Water Management
· Irrigation: Operate and maintain the irrigation system (drip / sprinkler / flood as applicable), schedule watering by crop stage and weather, and prevent water logging near panel foundations.
· Water discipline: Monitor water usage and report any pump, line or emitter issues to the O&M team.
D. Crop Protection
· Plant health: Scout regularly for pests, diseases and weeds; apply Integrated Pest Management (IPM) with safe, approved inputs.
· Safety: Ensure all spraying and chemical handling follows safety norms and does not damage or soil the PV modules and cabling.
E. Labour Management
· Daily deployment: Plan daily work allocation for the farm labour team, mark attendance / muster, and supervise quality of work.
· Seasonal labour: Arrange seasonal / contract labour for peak operations (sowing, harvesting) within approved budget.
· Training: Train labour on correct techniques and on working safely around live solar equipment.
F. Agri-Voltaic Coordination (Solar-specific)
· Asset protection: Carry out all agricultural activity without damaging PV modules, mounting structures, cables, earthing or fencing.
· Shade & growth control: Keep vegetation height and weeds under control so they do not shade the panels or become a fire / pest risk.
· O&M sync: Coordinate crop operations with the solar O&M schedule (module cleaning, inspections) so both activities run smoothly.
G. Records, Inputs & Reporting
· Input inventory: Maintain records of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other inputs - stock, consumption and reorder levels.
· Procurement: Raise indents for inputs and coordinate with purchase for timely procurement.
· MIS: Submit a weekly / monthly farm report - activities done, crop status, yield, labour cost and input cost - to the reporting manager.
