Primary English Coordinator – Job Description
Role Purpose
To lead, manage, and enhance the teaching and learning of English across the primary section, ensuring high standards in literacy, communication, and curriculum delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Planning & Development
- Design and implement a structured English curriculum aligned with frameworks like Cambridge Assessment International Education or national standards.
- Ensure progression in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills across grades.
- Develop yearly, term-wise, and weekly lesson plans.
2. Teaching & Learning Oversight
- Guide teachers in effective English teaching strategies (phonics, comprehension, writing skills).
- Model best teaching practices through demo classes.
- Ensure differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
3. Assessment & Evaluation
- Plan and monitor formative and summative assessments.
- Analyze student performance data to improve outcomes.
- Ensure consistency in grading, feedback, and reporting.
4. Teacher Support & Training
- Mentor and coach English teachers regularly.
- Conduct professional development sessions and workshops.
- Support new teachers with onboarding and lesson planning.
5. Classroom Observation & Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular classroom observations.
- Provide constructive feedback to improve teaching quality.
- Ensure classrooms are language-rich and engaging.
6. Resource Management
- Select and manage English teaching resources, books, and digital tools.
- Oversee library usage and reading programs.
- Integrate technology (apps, audio-visual aids) into learning.
7. Student Development & Activities
- Organize literacy activities: storytelling, debates, reading weeks, spelling bees.
- Encourage creative writing and public speaking.
- Support students needing additional help or enrichment.
8. Parent Communication
- Communicate student progress effectively to parents.
- Conduct workshops for parents on supporting English at home.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹10,421.48 - ₹61,188.45 per month
