Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day duct fabrication and assembly operations as per production schedule.
- Allocate work to operators, fitters, welders, and helpers according to workload and skill levels.
- Ensure proper use of raw materials such as GI sheets, aluminum sheets, and other consumables.
- Monitor fabrication activities like cutting, bending, flange forming, and duct assembly.
- Review and interpret fabrication drawings and ensure ducts are manufactured as per design and specifications.
- Maintain quality checks at each production stage to ensure dimensional accuracy and finishing.
- Coordinate with planning, design, and dispatch teams to ensure timely delivery of fabricated ducts.
- Monitor machine performance (shearing, bending, plasma cutting, etc.) and coordinate maintenance when required.
- Maintain proper records of production output, material consumption, and manpower utilization.
- Ensure implementation of 5S, lean manufacturing, and safety practices on the shop floor.
- Identify areas for process improvement to enhance productivity and reduce wastage.
- Train and guide workers to improve skill levels and maintain discipline.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in duct manufacturing / HVAC fabrication industry,
- Background: Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, duct forming, and assembly operations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical understanding of duct fabrication and sheet metal processes.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and BOQs.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good knowledge of production planning and process flow.
- Basic understanding of quality control tools and safety standards.
- Computer proficiency (Excel, ERP entry, report preparation).
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure.
