Chemical Production Supervisor – Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day chemical production activities.
- Ensure production targets are met as per schedule with optimum resource utilization.
- Plan raw material requirements and coordinate with Stores & Purchase departments.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production.
- Monitor process parameters to maintain product quality as per specifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team for in-process and final product testing.Ensure compliance with safety protocols, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and PPE usage.
- Monitor adherence to statutory and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety toolbox talks and train team members on safe handling of chemicals.Supervise operators, helpers, and contract staff working on the production floor.
- Assign work schedules, monitor attendance, and ensure discipline on the shop floor.
- Train team members on processes, equipment handling, and emergency procedures.Ensure proper operation of production equipment and utilities.
- Report breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs.
- Maintain records of preventive maintenance and downtime.Maintain production logbooks, batch manufacturing records (BMR), and daily production reports.
- Report production performance, material consumption, and wastage.
- Support in internal/external audits related to production, safety, and compliance.Identify areas for process improvement, yield enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Ensure minimum wastage of chemicals and resources.Coordinate Dispatch for a smooth workflow.
- Handle emergency situations related to chemical spillage or accidents.
- Any other responsibility assigned by the Factory Supervisor
- Arrange transport vehicles as per the requirement and follow up with transporters.
- Track shipment status and provide timely updates to customers/internal teams.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, helpers, and loaders to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and verify dispatch-related documents such as delivery challans, invoices, and transport receipts.
- Maintain dispatch registers, records of goods sent, and customer acknowledgments.
- Ensure accuracy of quantity and quality before dispatch.
- Plan, organize, and monitor the dispatch of finished goods/materials as per schedule.
- Coordinate with the Parties, Production, Stores, and Sales teams for timely dispatch.
- Ensure proper loading/unloading and safe handling of materials.
- Responsible for preparing Certificates of Analysis (COA)
- Responsible for preparing quotations
- Handling client communication and coordination
Skills & Requirements:
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry or Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of experience in chemical production or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety standards, and plant operations.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and production documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
