Retail FMCG Store Manager – Roles & Responsibilities
1. Store Operations
- Manage day-to-day store operations smoothly
- Ensure store opening and closing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and proper store arrangement
- Ensure products are displayed properly on shelves
2. Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and avoid stock shortages
- Check inward and outward stock regularly
- Conduct daily / weekly stock audits
- Coordinate with warehouse for stock replenishment
3. Sales Management
- Achieve monthly and daily sales targets
- Plan promotions and offers to increase sales
- Monitor slow-moving and fast-moving items
4. Staff Management
- Supervise store staff and assign duties
- Prepare duty rosters and shifts
- Train new employees on store operations
- Monitor staff performance and discipline
5. Customer Service
- Ensure good customer service in the store
- Handle customer complaints and feedback
- Maintain a friendly shopping environment
6. Billing & Cash Handling
- Monitor billing counters and POS systems
- Check daily cash collection and settlement
- Ensure billing accuracy
7. Merchandising
- Ensure proper product display and shelf arrangement
- Maintain FIFO / FEFO method for FMCG products
- Ensure correct price tags and promotional displays
8. Reporting
- Prepare daily sales report
- Share stock reports with management
- Monitor wastage, damages, and expiry products
9. Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers for product delivery
- Follow up for pending orders
10. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure store safety and security
- Follow company policies and government regulations
