CUBE invites applications from Civil Engineering professionals for a major fast-track institutional / high-rise project involving extensive use of precast construction technology.
The requirement is for a dedicated Precast QA/QC Team to monitor quality across the complete precast cycle — from casting yard / production facility to transportation, site erection, connections, grouting and final acceptance.
Candidates with only generic building construction, routine site supervision or conventional TPQA experience may not be suitable.
Positions Available
1. Engineer / Senior Engineer – QA/QC, Precast
(a) No. of Positions: 3
(b) Qualification. B.E. / B. Tech Civil Engineering. Post-graduation in Structural Engineering / Construction Management will be an added advantage.
(c) Experience. Preferably 5 to 12 years, with direct exposure to QA/QC of precast works.
(d) Candidates should be capable of independently inspecting, reporting and following up on quality issues in precast production and site erection.
2. Diploma Engineer / QA Inspector – Precast
(a) No. of Positions: 2.
(b) Qualification. Diploma in Civil Engineering.
(c) Experience. Preferably 3 to 8 years, with exposure to precast works, RCC construction, QA/QC inspections or site quality documentation.
(d) Candidates should be strong in field inspection, measurements, checklists, photographic records and closure follow-up.
3. Essential Exposure Required
(a) Candidates should have practical exposure to QA/QC activities in one or more stages of the precast construction cycle, including:
- Precast production / casting-yard operations, including moulds, reinforcement, embedded items, lifting inserts, casting, curing and demoulding.
- Quality checks related to dimensional accuracy, tolerances, surface finish, defects, repairs and acceptance of precast elements.
- Storage, stacking, handling, transportation, unloading, traceability and dispatch documentation of precast elements.
- Site erection activities, including crane lifting, erection sequence, temporary stability, alignment, levelling, connections, grouting and joint treatment.
- QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, checklists, test reports, inspection records, NCRs, corrective actions and closure documentation.
4. Key Responsibilities
(a) Selected candidates shall support CUBE’s PMC / TPQA / project leadership team in quality surveillance of precast works, including:
- Carrying out stage-wise QA/QC inspections at the precast yard and project site.
- Verifying compliance with approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, checklists and acceptance criteria.
- Identifying quality deviations, defects, unsafe practices, interface issues and recurring non-conformances.
- Raising quality observations / NCRs with proper photographs, location references, severity and recommended corrective actions.
- Following up with contractors / precast vendors for timely rectification, re-inspection and closure.
- Maintaining inspection records, photographic evidence, test records, closure status and quality dashboards.
- Supporting daily / weekly quality reporting, project reviews and management-level summaries.
- Escalating critical quality, safety, sequencing or interface risks that may affect project progress or final acceptance.
5. Technical Competencies
Candidates should also have working knowledge of relevant IS Codes, NBC provisions, QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, MS Office and digital reporting tools. Knowledge of AutoCAD / Primavera / MS Project will be an added advantage for engineering candidates
