As a Business Architect, a typical day involves identifying opportunities that can bring measurable value to the organization by thoroughly assessing the existing business environment. This role requires capturing high-level requirements and defining comprehensive business solutions that align with strategic goals. The Business Architect translates complex business needs into technology-enabled solutions and operational frameworks. Additionally, the role supports organizational transformation by developing detailed business cases and providing guidance throughout the implementation of critical initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and fostering continuous improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Role Characteristics
End-to-end ownership of requirements across the full share plan lifecycle, from enrolment through to reporting
Sits at the intersection of multiple functions (ops, finance, tax, legal, IT, client) with no single owner — the BA holds the full picture
Heavy integration focus: booking systems, settlement, reconciliation, and downstream finance/risk all in scope
Client-facing complexity: large corporates across multiple jurisdictions, requiring translation between very different stakeholder perspectives
High documentation standard expected — outputs must outlast the project (specs, runbooks, data dictionaries, decision logs) Must Haves
Experience as a BA on financial platform implementations (ideally banking/securities services)
Functional knowledge of equity instruments: RSUs, options, ESPP, vesting mechanics, taxable events
Understands securities ops end-to-end: position keeping, settlement, custody, reconciliation
Can elicit and document requirements across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Comfortable with integration patterns (APIs, file feeds, batch/event-driven) and data/source mapping
Practical SQL skills and ability to profile data and spot quality issues early
Designs UAT scenarios covering full chains including edge cases drives defect triage
Communicates credibly across technical, ops, client-facing, and executive audiences
Nice to Haves
Prior share plan or employee ownership platform implementation experience
Exposure to booking systems, custody, or settlement tooling
Multi-jurisdictional client experience (cross-border tax/reporting awareness)
CEP certification or equivalent equity professional credential
