Key Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based applications on enterprise mainframe systems.
· Lead and contribute to COBOL modernization and transformation initiatives, including re-platforming, refactoring, migration, API enablement, and application optimization.
· Analyze existing legacy applications, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend practical modernization strategies aligned with business objectives.
· Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, QA teams, DevOps teams, and customer stakeholders, to ensure seamless delivery.
· Debug, troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance legacy applications to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
· Participate actively in system integration, regression testing, user acceptance testing support, release readiness, and production validation activities.
· Ensure code quality, security, maintainability, and compliance with applicable industry standards and enterprise delivery guidelines.
· Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including design specifications, process flows, data flows, and system workflows.
· Provide timely support during production incidents, releases, and critical business events while adhering to SLA expectations and change-control processes.
Required Technical Skills:
· Strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
· Practical experience working in IBM mainframe environments, including IBM z/OS.
· Hands-on experience in COBOL modernization and transformation projects, such as re-hosting, re-platforming, refactoring, API enablement, and migration; exposure to microservices is an added advantage.
· Strong knowledge of batch processing and online transaction processing systems, including CICS.
· Familiarity with data migration, system integration, application assessment, and modernization tools.
· Sound understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery practices, release management, and enterprise development standards.
· Exposure to DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, code repositories, build automation, or deployment automation is an added advantage.
Domain Experience
· Mandatory: Proven experience in the Life Insurance domain, including areas such as policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, servicing, or related insurance processes.
· Required: Strong exposure to Banking and Financial Services applications, preferably within enterprise-scale, business-critical environments.
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
