- Procurement Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to forecast material needs.
- Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best possible pricing and service agreements.
- Manage contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to purchase orders and deliveries.
- Supplier Evaluation and Development:
- Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and implement improvement plans as needed.
- Develop alternative sources of supply to ensure continuous production flow.
- Technical Assessment:
- Assess the technical specifications of materials and equipment to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand technical requirements and specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in materials and equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Prepare reports on procurement status, cost analysis, and supplier performance for management review.
Technical Skills Required:
- ERP and Procurement Software:
- Proficiency in using ERP systems for managing procurement processes.
- Experience with procurement software and tools for tracking orders and managing supplier relationships.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and the technical requirements of materials and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Ability to analyze market trends and assess the impact on material costs and availability.
- Quality Management:
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and standards relevant to the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to assess supplier quality and implement corrective actions when necessary.
