Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the company’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting, taxation, and compliance, along with hands-on experience in the tea or FMCG industry. This role requires analytical thinking, leadership ability, and a thorough understanding of Indian financial regulations to support strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely closure of books of accounts.
- Generate MIS reports and financial insights for management decision-making.
- Monitor general ledger activities and ensure proper accounting practices.
2. Compliance & Taxation
- Manage GST, TDS, Income Tax filings, and other statutory compliances.
- Ensure adherence to Indian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and tax authorities when required.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring full compliance.
3. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance, costs, and variances.
- Recommend cost optimization strategies and financial improvements.
- Support management in financial planning and business strategy.
4. Audit & Internal Controls
- Handle internal and external audits efficiently.
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial controls and processes.
- Ensure documentation and audit readiness at all times.
5. Team Management & Leadership
· Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team.
· Allocate tasks and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
· Promote a disciplined, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
6. Additional Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
· Oversee banking transactions, reconciliations, and cash flow management.
· Support ERP/accounting system implementation and improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/Inter CA/MBA Finance preferred).
· Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management.
· Industry Preference: Prior experience in tea, FMCG, or manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
Key Skills:
· Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance
· Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing
· Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, ERP systems) and MS Excel
