ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and develop commercial software products as part of our core engineering team. You will build web and cloud-based applications end to end — from translating requirements into technical designs, to writing robust server-side and integration code, to shipping features that customers rely on. This is a growth role for an engineer who is passionate about programming and eager to work across the full stack.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the technical lead and product management to translate high-level requirements into technical designs and production-ready code.
- Understand the product architecture and develop core framework and middleware components.
- Design and build proof-of-concepts to validate new ideas and technical approaches.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers across web, server-side, and integration technologies.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integration flows connecting internal and external systems.
- Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to unit and integration testing.
- Recommend and champion tools and best practices that improve software quality and delivery.
- Continuously learn new technologies and bring innovative, practical solutions to the team.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and building Java / J2EE applications with a JavaScript front-end framework.
- Strong command of Java, J2EE, REST and web services, application security, and open-source frameworks including Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate / JPA.
- Experience building and integrating systems using enterprise integration frameworks such as Apache Camel (or a strong willingness to learn).
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases — MS SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, and a modern JS framework such as React, Angular, or Node.js.
- Strong analytical thinking and debugging skills — a natural technical trouble shooter.
- Ability to translate product designs into clean, maintainable code, backed by unit tests.
- Solid understanding of the full product development life cycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum or XP).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with short delivery timelines.
- Basic command-line experience with Linux.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with Struts or other legacy frameworks during modernization projects.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containers (Docker), or microservices architecture.
