Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate VMC (Vertical Machining Centre) machines as per production requirements.
- Handle manual setting and machine setup for different components.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set tools, fixtures, work offsets, and machine parameters.
- Load and unload components accurately and safely.
- Perform tool setting, tool changes, and basic machine adjustments.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure required quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct in-process inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Identify and rectify basic machining and tooling issues.
- Maintain proper surface finish and dimensional tolerances.
- Follow production schedules, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and support basic preventive maintenance activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as a VMC Setter Cum Operator.
- Strong experience in manual VMC setting and operation.
- Good knowledge of cutting tools, tool setting, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of G-codes and M-codes is preferred.
- Experience in handling precision measuring instruments.
- Good understanding of tolerances and machining processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machine and tooling problems.
- Willingness to work in a production/manufacturing environment.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Mechanical, Machinist, Fitter, or related technical qualification.
